At the invitation of the Saudi authorities, President Macky Sall is in Riyadh to take part in the first edition of the BEYOND Profit Forum, held on 3\u20134 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The gathering brings together numerous governmental and non-governmental actors, including civil society organizations, non-profit foundations, social enterprises, multilateral institutions, international organizations, and the private sector. It provides a platform for constructive dialogue, cross-sector networking, and shared learning at a time when the world is experiencing a multidimensional crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 4 December, President Sall chaired a high-level panel on the theme: \u201cAt the Center of Action: Making the Citizen\u2019s Heart Beat to Strengthen Communities.\u201d He commended the Saudi initiative to highlight philanthropy as an instrument of solidarity for safeguarding human dignity and social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this spirit, he emphasized the alignment between the BEYOND Profit initiative and the values of solidarity and sharing upheld by the Muslim faith, whose Holy Sites are hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He cited, in particular, the example of zakat, the obligatory Muslim alms and third pillar of Islam, as well as zakat al-fitr, prescribed at the end of Ramadan for any believer who has the means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Sall also shared his experience in public policies promoting social inclusion and territorial equity, noting that solidarity at the national level in favor of vulnerable groups is both an act of charity and a strategy for peace, stability, and social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further outlined the mission of his Foundation to contribute to building a better world for all, along with the central ideas contained in his latest book, Africa at Heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lastly, he reiterated his vision of a reformed international political, economic, and financial governance system, as a matter of justice and equity for developing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
