The jury of the Sheikh Zayed Prize (@zayedaward) for Human Fraternity, 2025 edition, of which President Macky Sall is one of the members, met in session in Rome on December 14 and 15. The Jury had the honor of being received in private audience on December 14, by His Holiness Pope Francis.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity bears the illustrious name of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates, a man of peace, dialogue and openness. The Prize was created on February 4, 2019 to mark the historic meeting between His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Professor Ahmed Al-Tayeb and His Holiness Pope Francis; a meeting that took place in Abu Dhabi and during which the two religious leaders co-signed the Document on Human Fraternity. This text then inspired the United Nations resolution of December 21, 2020, initiated by the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, which established February 4 as the International Day of Human Fraternity.
Given the historic significance of this declaration \u2013 which calls for reconciliation and peace for all humanity \u2013 the two religious leaders were named honorary recipients of the Zayed Human Fraternity Award in 2019.
Starting in 2021, nominations for the Award are open to individuals and entities from all backgrounds and regions around the world who strive to strengthen human relationships and impact people\u2019s lives by addressing divisions while building resilient communities and fostering solidarity.<\/p>\n

As a member of the Jury, President Sall stated:
\u201cAs the Jury finalizes the selection of the 2025 Laureates, we are focused on recognizing those who truly embody the ideals of human fraternity as outlined in the historic Document on Human Fraternity signed by His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb. I am proud to be part of this great initiative.\u201d
The award ceremony will take place in February 2025 in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n

Le jury du Prix Sheikh Zayed (@zayedaward) pour la fraternit\u00e9 humaine, \u00e9dtion 2025, dont le Pr\u00e9sident Macky Sall est l\u2019un des membres, s\u2019est r\u00e9uni en session \u00e0 Rome les 14 et 15 d\u00e9cembre. Le Jury a eu l’honneur d’\u00eatre re\u00e7u en audience priv\u00e9e le 14 d\u00e9cembre, par Sa Saintet\u00e9 le Pape Fran\u00e7ois.
Pour rappel, le Prix Zayed pour la Fraternit\u00e9 Humaine porte l\u2019illustre nom de feu Sheikh Zayed ben Sultan Al Nahyan, fondateur des Emirats Arabes Unis, homme de paix, de dialogue et d\u2019ouverture. Le Prix a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 le 4 f\u00e9vrier 2019 pour marquer la r\u00e9union historique entre Son \u00c9minence le Grand Imam d’Al-Azhar, Professeur Ahmed Al-Tayeb et Sa Saintet\u00e9 le Pape Fran\u00e7ois ; rencontre qui a eu lieu \u00e0 Abou Dhabi et au cours de laquelle les deux chefs religieux ont co-sign\u00e9 le Document sur la Fraternit\u00e9 Humaine.
Ce texte a ensuite inspir\u00e9 la r\u00e9solution des Nations unies du 21 d\u00e9cembre 2020 initi\u00e9e par les Emirats Arabes Arabes Unis et l’Egypte, et qui a instaur\u00e9 le 4 f\u00e9vrier comme la Journ\u00e9e internationale de la fraternit\u00e9 humaine.
Compte tenu de la port\u00e9e historique de cette d\u00e9claration – qui appelle \u00e0 la r\u00e9conciliation et \u00e0 la paix de toute l’humanit\u00e9 – les deux dirigeants religieux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9s r\u00e9cipiendaires honoraires du Prix Zayed pour la Fraternit\u00e9
Humaine en 2019.
\u00c0 partir de 2021, les nominations pour le Prix sont ouvertes aux individus et aux entit\u00e9s provenant de toutes origines et de toutes les r\u00e9gions du monde entier qui s’efforcent de renforcer les relations humaines et d’avoir un impact sur la vie des gens en faisant face aux divisions tout en b\u00e2tissant des communaut\u00e9s r\u00e9silientes et en favorisant la solidarit\u00e9.
En tant que membre du Jury, le Pr\u00e9sident Sall a notamment d\u00e9clar\u00e9 :
